The Hamal CDD encompasses an area of approximately 275 acres, all located within the boundaries of the City of West Palm Beach, Florida. The District is generally bounded on the west by the water catchment area, on the east by the Florida Turnpike, on the south by Okeechobee Boulevard and on the north by the water catchment area.
The Hamal CDD will be responsible for the financing, development, construction and maintenance of surface water management and control systems, certain access road, eradication of exotic vegetation, off-site environmental mitigation, street lighting, sound abatement walls and bicycle and pedestrian circulation system.
A Community Development District (CDD) provides the 'solution' to Florida's need to provide valuable community infrastructure generated by growth, ultimately without overburdening other governments and their taxpaying residents. CDDs represent a major advancement in Florida's effort to manage its growth effectively and efficiently. This allows a community to establish higher construction standards, meanwhile providing a long-term solution to the operation and maintenance of the community's facilities.
